This family-owned and operated business is committed to providing outstanding customer service with particular attention devoted to making your dream home a reality!
In 1976, Harley Waguespack and his daughter, Karen Judge, opened Adda Carpet. It was a three employee operation that concentrated on the basics- carpet and sheet vinyl. The original showroom was less than 500 sq ft. but business was great because of the excellent one-on-one customer service.
In 1995, Harley retired. Karen’s son, Chris Judge, joined the business and ownership passed from grandfather to grandson. Chris and Karen expanded the showroom to 1600 sq ft, changed the name to Adda Carpet & Flooring. They also added tile, wood and other hard surfaces and eventually doubled the number of employees.
In 2005, Hurricane Katrina devastated most of New Orleans and the surrounding areas. Adda Carpet & Flooring hired additional employees and worked longer hours to meet the increasing demands of those renovating and rebuilding. Karen and Chris soon realized that their clients didn’t need just flooring – they needed a place where they could recharge, discuss their homes, their memories and their exciting expectations for the future. They needed cabinets, appliances, decorating ideas – the whole package. Chris and Karen began to look at other businesses that would compliment their own and allow them to build relationships with their clients far outlasting just a room of carpet.
In 2009, Karen and her husband, Hal Judge found just the place: Huey Brown’s Kitchens. Located in the Elmwood area, this 4,000 sq ft showroom with an attached warehouse of 6,000 was the answer! Adda Carpet & Flooring left the Metairie location and joined Huey Brown’s in its existing space. Now carpet, tile, cabinets, appliances and more can all be found under one roof!
